Vodafone launches ‘Be Smart’ campaign to boost 3G usageTelecommunications giant Vodafone on Thursday announced the launch of competitively priced mobile internet initiative `Be Smart' in the Mumbai circle as part of its efforts to boost adoption of high speed third-generation (3G) Internet.

Under Vodafone's `Be Smart' initiative, mobile internet packs start at Rs 44, which provides 175 MB of data for 7 days in Mumbai circle. The telecommunications firm has more than 6.5 million customers in this circle.

The company said it was encouraged by increasing sales of faster, 3G-enabled mobile devices as well as growing need for 3G internet.

The company said in a statement, "Vodafone `Be Smart' Mobile Internet initiative communicates the need for synergizing 3G technology with HSPA enabled handsets, for faster, smarter and better mobile internet experience."

Arvind Vohra, the company's business head for Mumbai, said there was tremendous potential for owners of latest technology enabled mobile phones to adopt 3G internet to get the best experience.

Vodafone's `Be Smart' campaign is trying to evoke customers' interest in its 3G packs by communicating the message that smartphones are imperfect without Vodafone 3G.
