WCCB traps notorious poacher Bheema in HaryanaBallabhgarh (Haryana), Nov 18 : A notorious poacher Bheema, was arrested in a joint operation late on Tuesday evening near Ballabhgarh in Haryana.

Bheema was wanted by several central and state agencies in connection with a tiger poaching racket prevailing in the country.

He was apprehended in a joint operation led by the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) Gurgaon Police and other agencies.

Bheema was absconding since July 2008, and was subsequently declared a proclaimed offender.

The joint operation team also recovered tiger bones, body parts, several traps and implements from his Gurgaon house.

He is also suspected to have been involved in the killing of several tigers and leopards in north India and had links to middlemen and illegal wildlife traders.

His arrest is expected to provide vital clues on organized poaching networks in the country. (ANI)
