The dispute between the West Indies Players Association (WIPA) and the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has came to an end as all the 13 leading players of West Indies cricket team have made themselves available for International cricket after putting an end to a long strike.
The matter was resolved when the former Commonwealth secretary general Shridath Ramphal was appointed as an arbitrator to intercede both parties over a contract and payment issue due to which all the West Indies team players refused to play in the International cricket.
A meeting between WIPA and WICA was organized by the honorable Guyana President Bharrat Jagdeo on the request of WIPA, where the both parties agreed to appoint a mediator to resolve the issue.
West Indies player boycotted recently concluded test series against Bangladesh, which was won by Bangladesh by 2-0.
Both parties in a joint statement said that the entire player would be available for selection in the nation team as a mediator has been appointed to resolve the issue keeping in view the interest of West Indies cricket fans and the international sport of cricket. The ODI series against Bangladesh will kick off on 26th July at Windsor Park in Dominica.
