Why is Honda Jazz so expensive? The first hatchback car of Honda, Jazz, which was rolled out two days ago, has disappointed some of the small car buyers with its expensive price tag. Honda Jazz, priced in the range of Rs 6.98 lakh – Rs. 7.33 Lakhs, is the most expensive small car in the Indian market.

Honda Jazz is a spacious car – 3900mm in length and 1695mm in width. The car has a 2500mm long wheelbase, and it has a massive 400-litre boot.  

Jazz, the hatchback version of Honda City, is mainly designed for the consumers with high incomes. Jazz shares feature-similarity with many of Honda cars; its seats are similar to Accord’s, steering wheel resembles Civic, and front grille resembles the CR-V.

Jazz features typical Honda design including sharp lines and central bonnet ridge. The car has sharp headlamps and steeply raked windscreen. The sides of the car are embellished by alloy wheels and ellipsoidal glass areas. The car sports curved roof and smaller rear glass area. The car has attractive tail lamp blended with the rear. The car has wide tail gate mounted in the centre.

Honda Jazz is equipped with four-cylinder, 1198 cc state of the art i-VTEC engine, which comes with Programmed Fuel Injection technology. The fuel average of the car is 16.1 kmpl. The car is available in 3 variants – Jazz, Jazz Mode, and Jazz Active.

The 1.2 liter Jazz’s i-VTEC engine meets the Euro IV emission norms. Like other Honda engines, the engine of Jazz is E10 compatible. The powerful engine delivers high performance. The Programmed Fuel Injection technology allows the engine to develop a healthy 90PS @ 6,200 rpm and a decent torque figure of 112Nm @ 4800 rpm.
    
The 1.3 liter Jazz’s i-VTEC develops a nice 100 PS @ 6,000rpm and 127Nm of torque @ 4,800rpm, while the 1.5 liter Jazz’s i-VTEC engine makes 120 PS @ 6,600rpm and 145Nm of torque @ 4,800rpm.

The three variants of Jazz – Jazz, Jazz Mode, and Jazz Active – are priced at 6.98 Lakhs, Rs. 7.28 Lakhs, and Rs. 7.33 Lakhs respectively.
