Today, he turned 33 (February 5, 2009).

Abhishek Bachchan was born in Mumbai on February 05, 1976. The son of India’s legendary actors Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan is married to former Miss World turned actress, Aishwarya Rai. His elder sister is Shweta Bachchan-Nanda. His grandfather, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, was a well-known poet of Hindi literature.

Junior Bachchan started his film career with J.P. Dutta’s ‘Refugee’ in 2000, which did not perform well at the box office.

The actor delivered a hit and a critically acclaimed performance in ‘Dhoom’ and ‘Yuva’ in 2004. For ‘Yuva’, he received many awards such as his first Filmfare Award in the Best Supporting Actor category, an award he would win for the two next years as well.

Since then, Abhi starred in movies that have been commercially and critically victorious, proving himself as one of the top actors in Bollywood.

After that, Big B’s loving son proved his mettle as an actor in Mani Ratnam’s Yuva in 2004.

During the same year, the actor shot to fame with Dhoom, which was his first major hit. In 2005, he starred in four consecutive hits such as ‘Bunty Aur Babli’, ‘Sarkar’, ‘Dus’ and ‘Bluffmaster’.

For ‘Sarkar’, he won his second Filmfare Award in the Best Supporting Actor category. His first 2006 release, the multi-starrer Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006) was one of the highest grossing films of the year.

Abhi also received much acclaim for his performance in ‘Guru’ in 2007. The movie came out as his first solo hit.

Now, Ash’s hubby is looking forward to yet another biggie ‘DELHI 6’, directed by Rakyesh OmPrakash Mehra. The film will hit screens on 20th February.

Apart from acting, Abhishek is also involved in the functional and administrative operations of his father’s company, AB Corp. Ltd.
