AT&T kicks in the smart phone Market
AT& T enters the market with its first Android software smartphone. It is call for the rival Verizon to be alert as it enters with its new product Motorola- Backflip.
The Backflip, a product of Motorola, is priced at $99.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate if the user signs up for a two year contract. It comes with a mini QWERTY keyboard that flips back from the screen and an unusual track pad that works like a mouse. It allows users to aggregate all the social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter, with contacts numbers supported by the so-called 'third generation network connectivity'.
AT&T, the elite U. S. carrier for Apple's phone, is widening its business phone line - up as need increases for devices that surf the Web, clicks pictures and play music. Verizon wireless has already made strong position in the market with it s populous Motorola Droid. It is yet to be seen how the telecom major scores up to its rival. The cue to both the telecom biggies is Motorola which has a vital role to play.
