Baloch CM says drone attacks will tarnish Obama’s global imageQuetta, Mar. 21 : Balochistan Chief Minister Muhammad Aslam Raisani has said drone attacks in Balochistan will tarnish President Barack Obama's global image.

"We do not have to panic about published reports about possible drone attacks. I will soon meet the American ambassador to convey our concerns to her. This issue would be brought to the attention of President Asif Ali Zardari and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi as well," the Daily Times quoted him, as saying.

Raisani also claimed that Taliban leader Mullah Omar is hiding in Kandahar (Afghanistan), and not in Balochistan.

"If we are given any information about the presence of Taliban leaders, we will operate against them ourselves," he said.

Raisani said he was not present during the meeting between US Ambassador to Pakistan Anne Patterson and Balochistan Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Magsi.

Referring to his efforts as a mediator between the PPP and the PML-N, Raisani said governor's rule in Punjab would likely end in a few days.

He said former Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif still enjoyed the support of a majority in the province. (ANI)
