The second seeded Mahesh Bhupathi and his Bahamian partner Mark Knowles handed a straight-set mauling to UAE’s Hamoud Abbas and Mahmoud-Naden Al Baloushi.

With this win, the Indo-Bahamian pair has now advanced into the quarter-finals of the Dubai Tennis Championship.

The Bhupathi & Knowles pair were at ease throughout the match and hardly had any trouble to overpower their rivals 6-3, 6-1 in the $2,233,500 event. This was the 50th win for this Indo-Bahamian pair.

It can be here recalled that Bhupathi & Knowles are defending the title they won here last year.

In the next stage, Bhupathi and Knowles will take on Rik De Voest of South Africa and Dmitry Tursunov of Russia who beat Russian pair Igor Andreev and Mikhail Youzhny 6-3, 6-2.

However, Leander Paes of India and his Czech partner Lukas Dlouhy were sent packing by unseeded pair of Simone Bolelli and Ivo Karlovic

Meanwhile, another Indian in the tournament, Prakash Amritraj and his Pakistani partner Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi would begin their campaign against Czech Martin Damm and Robert Lindstedt of Sweden. The Indo-Pak pair has got a wild card entry into this esteemed event.
