As a result of recent terror attacks, Big B aka the Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan has declined to participate in the ‘Clinton Global Initiative’.

Big B was to be one of the main speakers at former US President Bill Clinton's Global Initiative.

In a press release, Big B said, “I am not going to leave my country in this troubled hour to travel to a foreign land to lend cause to a foreign initiative, patronized and guided by a foreigner, for his benefit. I need to see initiative here in my country.”

“I am not going to sing and dance at a time when my country and city bleeds. They can keep their initiative to themselves”, added the ace actor.

The Clinton Global Initiative was to be held on December 2 and 3 in Hong Kong where global leaders from various backgrounds were to meet to discuss a variety of topics ranging from energy resources to sustained development and other pressing issues of the times.

Due to terror strikes, Big B has earlier also cancelled his participation in LIVE EARTH, the Al Gore initiative. Live Earth was scheduled for December 7 in Mumbai.

Almost 200 people, including 22 foreigners, lost their lives in a blockade that lasted for three days, turning India's financial and entertainment center into a war zone.
