BJP, Sena to provide legal aid to Sadhvi

BJP, Sena to provide legal aid to Sadhvi Taking a sharp turn from its previous stand to act tough on terrorism, the Bharatiya Janata Party has decided to offer legal assistance to Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, the main accused in the Malegaon blast.

BJP maintained that an accused has the right to legal aid but it's not the job of an institution to do the job, pointing finger at Jamia Millia Islamia promising legal aid to students implicated in the Batla House encounter.

"A Nashik-based lawyer, who is also a former Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh functionary, is coordinating the effort with various lawyers," Nashik BJP chief Vijay Sane told.

On the Other hand Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said there would be "at least four lawyers" for Sadhvi whenever she will come to the court.

At the same time Madhya Pradesh Minister Kailash Vijayvargeeya has sent an Indore based lawyer to co-ordinate between the accused and local lawyers.
