Bollywood Films Steal IFFI’s Day 3; ‘TZP’ Tops The List

Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen ParOn day 3 of the ongoing 39th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Bollywood movies stole the show as the organisers queued up Aamir Khan’sTaare Zameen Par, K Asif’s Mughale -E-Azam and Ashutosh Rana’s Summer 2007 for the audiences.

Taare Zameen Par, India’s official entry to the Oscars, came forth as the film, which most people including Bollywood bigwigs looked forward to see on day three of the film festival.

They all wished the movie ‘good luck’ for the academy awards.

But, Perfectionist Khan was not there.

Actor Gul Panag said, “I’m a huge fan of Mr. Aamir Khan. I believe it is one of the finest films we have come out with this year and I wish it goes the full distance.”

“I think Taare Zameen Par has more of a human message than a social message and yes it is the official entry for Oscars and it has many layers. It has touched the hearts of many,” said actor Tisca Chopra.

IFFI 2008 is seeing a lot more Bollywood celebs attending the film festival.

The authorities also wish to have more Bollywood faces to grace the occasion in the future.

Mr. Anand Sharma, Information and broadcasting minister and external affair minister, said, “We would like our film industry to be more associated because this is showcasing the Indian cinema of our country. We would do anything to ensure that the film industry remains connected because cinema is not only commerce.”

However, viewers seem to be separated in their judgment of whether they want to see their stars stealing attention at IFFI.

One film enthusiast said, “I enjoy contemporary Bollywood masala movies.”

Meanwhile another one said, “No not really. I’m not too keen. I would watch more of Hollywood and outshore films.”
