Brit PM was thrashed at school

London, December 7 : Gordon Brown has confessed that he was thrashed with a belt by his headmaster while at school for planning to sneak off to watch a football match.

On being questioned if he had been caned for breaking rules, the Brit PM, admitted having been beaten by the belt– a popular alternative to the cane during his times, reports the Telegraph.

Sir Alan Sugar asked Brown in an interview: "When you were at school, did you ever get the cane?" Brown replied: "The belt, yes."

Sir Alan then asked: "The belt? You got the belt?" to which Brown added: "The belts were actually manufactured in my constituency."

A close pal of the labour politician told the Mail Online that Brown, who was then 14, along with other boys, had been summoned by the headmaster in his office.

The boys had then been belted for their plans “to play truant” to watch Scotland play in a 1966 World Cup qualifying match. (ANI)
