Champions League may postpone

Champions League may postponeThe forthcoming Champions League is expected to be rescheduled following the security threats in the wake on Mumbai terror attack. The matches are likely to take place in January next year as per reports. The chief executive of the Champions League is under pressure to revise the match schedule on security grounds and availability of players. However, the decision in this regard is not yet taken.

Cricket South Africa chief executive Gerald Majola said, "Our focus has now turned to the series against Australia, and we will revisit the Champions League issue at an appropriate time." The Champions League board is going to meet in South Africa next Monday and final decision is likely decided in the meeting.

Most of the players would be available in January to participate in the event. Indian players can also participate, as the proposed tour of Indian cricket team to Pakistan in January has been cancelled after the recent attacks in Mumbai. The Lanka versus Bangladesh series doesn't affect the Champions League prospects as their players are not participating in the league matches.
