Date set for Swedish royal wedding

Date set for Swedish royal weddingStockholm  - Swedish Crown Princess Victoria is set to marry on June 19, 2010, the palace said Monday, noting that the date had a "long tradition" in the ruling Bernadotte family.

Victoria, 31, and her boyfriend Daniel Westling, 35, last month announced their engagement ending years of speculation over the couple that has been been dating since
2002.

Her parents, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia, also married on June 19 in 1976.

The wedding was to be held at the Stockholm Cathedral in the city's Old Town, near the royal palace. Victoria's parents used the same church.

Westling operates several fitness centres, and is to become known as Prince Daniel, Duke of Vastergotland on marrying the princess.

Victoria, who is next-in-line to the Swedish throne, is popular with Swedish people, and has won respect for speaking out on her struggle with dyslexia. (dpa)
