One of the top accounting companies in the world, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu is going big time on hiring. In a statement, it said that as many as 5,000 people worldwide will be taken in the company and much of these will be in the Asian region and that too India.

The step is being taken since Deloitte was able to show strong revenue during this period and is now looking for expanding itself.

Its revenue went up by 1.8 per cent to end to end at $26.6 billion for the year ending March 31. Most of the sales has been coming from its consulting businesses in Asia.

Deloitte is one of the major accounting companies which is looking into the regulatory and other accounting practices of the companies during the recessionary period.

It saw its consulting business go up by 14.9 per cent to become $7.5 billion last year. This made it easier for the company to take up the gap that developed because of the gap in the revenue segment of the financial service wing.

Also the acquisition of BearingPoint's US public sector consulting practice led to rise in demand of the businesses that need integration of newer technology.
