Deloitte LLP to recruit 12,000 in IndiaBusiness consultancy firm, Deloitte has announced plans to hire 12,000 people in India over the next 30 months. This would double the company’s manpower to 24,500.

“We will hire around 12,000 people in every sector, including IT, CAs, financial services. The process has started and 40 per cent of the new recruits will be freshers,” said the Managing Director of the company’s India unit Mr Hari Kumar. He was speaking at the sidelines of Nasscom Summit on Thursday.

Presently the company employs 11,500 employees in 13 cities in the country. The company plans to hire 500 people by the end of this financial year. It has an attrition rate of eight per cent.

A large part of recruitment will take place in the cities of Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi. The company will ensure that it maintains a fresher and laterals ratio of 40:60. The company claims that it has a policy to not lay off people. It said that it hired at least 2,000 people last year.

Deloitte is focusing on premier educational institues in the country like IITs, IIMs and top 25 business schools, according to Mr. Kumar. He further said that the country was among the top five ‘high-growth' countries for the company others being Brazil, Russia, China and West Asia.

The company did not comment on the forensic auditing being done on Satyam Computer Services. The company said it has launched an initiative to have zero tolerance norms for staffers even before the scandal in Satyam. Deloitte and KPMG have been appointed to check the accounting history prior to the crisis of Satyam.
