Denmark lowers lending rate to 3.00 per cent

DenmarkCopenhagen - Denmark's central bank Thursday lowered its lending rate by 0.75 percentage points to 3.00 per cent, shadowing a Thursday decision by the European Central Bank to cut its rates by half a percentage point.

The cut was effective as of Friday, the Danish central bank said.

The central bank said the discount rate and the current account rate were also to be lowered by 75 basis points to 2.75 per cent as of Friday.

Denmark is a member of the European Union, but not a member of the eurozone. (dpa)
