Dish TV declares high Q1 FY 11The Dish TV Q1 FY 11 Results have declared today and the company has experienced an EBITA of Rs. 391 Million which has been up by 85.3% on YOY basis. The DTH player has also added a total of 0.64 million new subscribers during this period. This has clearly made the company the 6th largest DTH player in the country with a market share of 25%.

As commenting on the high performance of the company in the quarterly results Subhash Chandra, Chairman, Dish TV, stated that Dish TV has given another high growth quarter and the company will further remain focus on improving its operating margins and increasing bottom line profitability.

The reason for the sudden spurt of increase in the subscribers' base of the company has been the 'The FIFA World Cup 2010'. As the activations in the month of June only recorded to a whopping amount of 240 thousand registering a 83% growth as compared to the last year.

The company has more than 250 channels and services along with the largest content offering. Infact eight new channels were added to the company's bouquet in this quarter ranging from entertainment, sports, movies, GEC and devotional. However sports will remain the key driver for company's growth in the future as well.
