Dortmund, Germany - Paraguay striker Nelson Valdez is to stay at Borussia Dortmund another two years until 2012, the Bundesliga club said Monday.

Sport director Michael Zorc said it had been decided on an early extension of the player's current contract which expires next year.

Valdez, 25, arrived at Dortmund from Werder Bremen in 2006 and has shown improved form since the winter break, scoring four goals and setting up another four in Dortmund's rise to seventh place. (dpa)
