Emergency may be imposed in Pakistan

Benazir Bhutto and Pervez Musharraf Islamabad, Nov 3: Rumours gripped Pakistan today about the possibility of President Pervez Musharraf imposing martial law in the country.

Media reports here suggest that the decision of imposing emergency in the country has already been taken at a high-level meeting where Musharraf discussed the future strategies with his top aides.

Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz was also present at the meeting.

''The switch could be turned on anytime,'' the Dawn quoted an unnamed official as telling Geo TV.

The reports suggest that the announcement could be made any time, and there is also the possibility that Musharraf might address the nation.

Meanwhile, large numbers of security forces have been deployed at strategic areas. (ANI)
