Foreign satellites to be launched by ISRO in 2009
A respectable position among the international space research organizations has already been made by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) by launching Chandrayaan on 22nd October, 2008. For now, it is time for Indian Space Professionals to have a strong presence in the international satellite-building and launch service.
ISRO is all determined to make a prominent place among the other organizations, as it is planning to unveil four foreign satellites this year.
When ISRO was able to successfully launch communication satellite W2M, built by ISRO in partnership with EADS-Astrium of Europe two weeks ago; it made vital improvements.
“The Indian space agency is gearing up to launch four satellites of Singapore, Netherlands, Italy and Algeria in 2009,” reported ISRO official K.R. Sridhara Murthy.
As of now, the officials at ISRO have kept their fingers crossed, as ISRO can become a desirable centre of space research for international space research professionals soon, if everything goes as planned.
