Geek starts customer registration portal for genuine IMEI mobilesThe reliable IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) mobile retailer – Geek has started new customer registration portal for genuine IMEI mobiles. The new customer registration portal has been started to help customers to register mobile IMEI, and the portal will forward the data to COAI and Telco providers.

The first genuine IMEI portal of India has been started by Geek IT Stores, supporting the ban on illegal china mobiles announced by the Indian Government and DoT. The china mobiles phones do not have IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) code, and thus these phones have been banned over concerns that the devices could be used by terrorists.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Geek IT Stores, Amit Nayak said, "As we are a legal genuine IMEI importer and manufacturer, we welcome the decison to ban the fake IMEI mobiles, after this news confirmation our franchise business has quadrupled.”

On April 30 all the illegally smuggled china mobile phones will stop working, will lose network connectivity. Presently, more that eight percent of India's 375 million mobile phone users are using china mobiles having no IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) code. Over 30 million Chinese-made mobile phones will lose networks at the end of this month. Telecom service providers like Airtel, Vodafone, BSNL have started deactivating fake IMEI handsets. The china mobile phones have Rs 7000 crore revenue industry in India.
