NEW YORK, Dec. 4 - Items from the iconic, now-shuttered, music club CBGB are to be part of an exhibit at the new Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Annex in New York, CBGB Holdings said.

The Manhattan hotspot -- credited with helping establish the careers of Television, the Ramones, Blondie, Patti Smith, the B-52's and Talking Heads -- closed down last spring. However, pieces of it will soon be on display, thanks to a new ownership team headed by James Blueweiss and Robert Williams -- partners in the recently formed CBGB Holdings -- as well as members of founder Hilly Kristal's immediate family, long-time employees and music industry advisers who have a history with the club.

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 4 - Hollywood actor Jack Black plays Jesus Christ in the new online video "Prop. 8 -- The Musical."

Conceived and written by Marc Shaiman, and directed and staged by Adam Shankman, the video addresses the recent passage of California's Proposition 8 referendum, which overturns a state Supreme Court ruling that laws against same-sex marriage violated the state constitution.

Los Angeles  - In the first major US movie awards of the year, the National Board of Review has named the Mumbai-based drama Slumdog Millionaire as best picture of the year.

The movie, about an Indian pauper who wins a fortune on a TV show, also took the award for breakthrough performance by an actor - for its star Dev Patel. Writers Simon Beaufoy and Eric Roth took the best adapted screenplay award.

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 4  -- U. S. television personality Spencer Pratt is denying his mother-in-law's allegations that Heidi Montag married him because he drugged her.

Darlene Egelhoff told Us Weekly she thinks Montag was under the influence when she wed Pratt last month in Mexico. She also predicted "The Hills" stars' marriage would expire within six months.

London, December 4 : Burger King has incurred the wrath of campaigners with its new advertising campaign that experiments on “burger virgins” – the poverty-stricken villagers from globally remote parts.

The food giant came up with a new promotion scheme of comparing its signature Whopper burger against McDonald’s Big Mac to see which won the taste test challenge.

The endorsement explained, “how it sought out farmers in rural Romania, Thai villagers and residents of Greenland''s icy tundra” for a “real opinion”.
