Hugh JackmanWashington, Nov 20: Hugh Jackman has been named ‘2008''s Sexiest Man Alive’ by People magazine.

While the ‘Australia’ star, 40, is known for his hard body, he has a softer side too.

Jackman sings ballads at home, makes pancakes for son Oscar, 8, daughter Ava, 3, as well as his wife Deborra-Lee Furness.

“Deb and my kids have been the best things that have ever happened to me, without a doubt,” he told People.

So what were his wife’s thoughts on the coveted “Sexiest” title?

“"I could've told them that years ago," she said.

London  - Hollywood actress Winona Ryder was briefly taken to a London clinic Wednesday after falling ill on a flight from Los Angeles but left hospital in "good health" shortly afterwards, her publicist said Wednesday.

"She did fall ill on a plane and as a precautionary measure they took her to a hospital. She has already been released from hospital. She was there for an hour. She's in good health. There's no drama," said Mara Buxbaum.

The 37-year-old actress was on a British Airways flight from Los Angeles to London when she fell ill and was treated by medics before being taken to Hillingdon Hospital near London's Heathrow airport.

London  - Hollywood actress Winona Ryder was briefly taken to a London clinic Wednesday after falling ill on a flight from Los Angeles but was discharged a few hours later, British Airways said.

The 37-year-old actress was treated by medics at London's Heathrow airport before being taken to the nearby Hillingdon Hospital at noon, BA said.

The captain of the BA flight from Los Angeles to London had requested a priority landing after Ryder became ill.

The airline said the crew looked after Ryder as much as they could while on board. No further details about the nature of her illness or her condition were given.

Los Angeles  - Australian actor Hugh Jackman, 40, was named the "Sexiest Man Alive" by People magazine Wednesday, topping the annual list ahead of James Bond actor Daniel Craig who came in at number two, and past favourites such as Brad Pitt, George Clooney and last year's winner Matt Damon.

"You can't go wrong with Jackman," People correspondent Michelle Beadle told CBS after revealing the selection. "He's Australian, first of all. He's adorable. He's got one of the best bodies ever. And he's a family man. We all love that.

"He's not on the party scene. He loves his kids, he loves his wife. He likes to stay home and make pancakes. He's almost too perfect!"
