Google Soon To Come Up With ‘GDrive’

Google Soon To Come Up With ‘GDrive’ As per some of the popular tech blogs, Google, world’s most popular and widely used advertising system, would soon come up with 'GDrive', an online storage for its users.

If launched, the Google’s GDrive would store all the data of your PC on the internet. If instructed, G-drive would keep syncing all the data of the web and your PC on a periodical basis. Not only this, the new service from Google would make it possible to access and update information like emails, photographs, music, documents and spreadsheets from any device with an internet connection.

Leading technology news website TG Daily, describes GDrive as "the most anticipated Google product so far".

The new system is being described as “cloud computing”, wherein the web rather than the hard drive is used as the place where information is stored. It is believed that the GDrive could “cause a major paradigm shift in how we use computers and bring Google one step closer to dethroning Windows on your desktop”.

However, many campaigners warn that GDrive would give the online giant an extraordinary control over individuals' personal data. Commenting over this, Peter Brown, of the Free Software Foundation charity, said: “Does it matter to you that someone can see everything on your computer? Does it matter that Google can be subpoenaed at any time to hand over all your data to the American government?”

Google is expected to launch the GDrive in 2009.
