Gujarat health industry needs perfection and expansion

 http://www.topnews.in/files/Healthcare3.jpgA seminar is organized by the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), and the department of health and family welfare, government of Gujarat, for discussing on Gujarat health industry's future and its present situation, in the city.

The seminar was attended by 2000 experts from different corporate hospitals and private and public institutions, all of these people have shown their concern on the present medical infrastructure in Gujarat. They strongly believe that Gujarat medical infrastructure needs perfection and expansion.

It is said that there suggestions will be helpful for laying down the strategy for the vibrant Gujarat 2010-11 conference.

Vijayalakshmi Joshi said that at present Gujarat is facing many challenges in terms of medical care. She also presented a detailed presentation in which she had strongly portrayed Gujarat's limited medical infrastructure and demanded for the expansion of medical services to cope with the restrictions applied in providing medical care.

Jaynarayan Vyas, minister for health and family welfare said that it has been assessed that major drawback that Gujarat medical health industry is facing is the shortage of manpower and to overcome this problem, government has already added 500 medical seats last year and is planning to add more 700 seats this year.

Vyas further declared that Gujarat will open 12 new operational medical colleges by 2012 and it is expected that by 2015, Gujarat will become the most favored medical tourism destination.
