 Hero Honda closer on finalising TN for new plantSources familiar with the matter confirm that the largest two-wheeler maker in the Indian market, Hero Honda Motors may head towards the playfield of TVS Motors as it is planning to open its fourth unit in the Tamil Nadu region of the country.

Though, the company said that it is currently exploring options and is in the middle of the process but experts believe that if the firm has already finalised Tamil Nadu as the state where it will be opening its new plant. The investment will be around Rs 1,500 crore spread over an area of 100-200 acres. In fact, according to sources in the government, the officials from Hero Honda have already made multiple visits to the site and are finalising potential locations.

Moreover, almost 5-6 such places in the Sipcot industrial corridors have been shown to the company and decision is expected to be made in the next 15-20 days. Though, there are many MNCs that are based in the Sriperumbadur and Oragadam industrial corridors in Kanchipuram district, but the government officials have shown the new districts to the Hero Honda management.
