New Delhi, Jan 8 : Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma today said that New Delhi is looking at what action Pakistan will take against the Mumbai terror attackers and whether it will dismantle the terror infrastructure on its soil.

"Pakistan must take effective action. Pakistan has unfortunately been for long in a state of denial. They should have accepted it soon after these organisations based in Pakistan were named and proscribed by the United Nations Security Council and the individuals who had masterminded the dastardly terror attack in Mumbai were also identified and named," said Sharma.

"By not doing so and creating war hysteria resulted in tension, which was avoidable. Even now, we have to see what effective action is taken to bring the perpetrators to justice and also to dismantle terror infrastructure," he added.

The statement comes after Islamabad accepted on Wednesday night that the lone surviving militant of Mumbai attacks Mohammed Ajmal Kasab, who is in Indian custody, was a Pakistani.

Earlier, Islamabad had said it could not find his name on a national database of citizens.

India presented a dossier of material to Pakistan earlier this week, which included a confession from Kasab, details of communications links with "elements in Pakistan", and data retrieved from GPS and satellite phones.

New Delhi wants Islamabad to investigate fully the leads in the dossier and help to bring those responsible for planning and coordinating the attacks to justice in India. (ANI)
