The first day of India’s test match against Bangladesh at the Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong remained in the name of Indian players especially openers Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir for their robust performance.

Sewag and Gambhir were undefeated at 38 and 22 giving a solid start to India. Earlier, Bangladesh team won the toss putting India in for taking on Bangladesh team at its home turf. The match started one and half hour late due to unfavorable weather conditions due to intensive fog and bad light.

Indian team includes captain Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Rahul Dravid , Sachin Tendulkar , VVS Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan [ Images ], Amit Mishra , S Sreesanth, Dinesh Karthik, Ishant Sharma. The team does not include regular captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni due to his back spasms.

Players from Bangladesh side includes captain Shakib Al Hasan, wicket keeper Mushfiqur Rahim, Raqibul Hasan, Rubel Hossain, Shafiul Islam, Shahadat Hossain, Imrul Kayes, Mohammad Mahmudullah, Mohammad Ashraful, Shahriar Nafees and Tamim Iqbal.

Field umpires Billy Bowden and Marais Erasmus and fourth umpire enjoyed interesting inning by Indian players amid unpleasant weather.
