ISRO Chief pays homage to those killed in Mumbai terror attacksBangalore: ISRO Chairman Madhavan Nair had condemned the terror attack on Mumbai, describing it as "very unfortunate".

He said that the attacks were very unfortunate and it has shocked not just the Mumbai city and the country but the entire world. Speaking at the inauguration function of the three-day Begaluru Space Expo 2008, International conference and exhibition on space technology, Nair said, "Such things should not happen anywhere in the world. It's very unfortunate. Many innocent lives have been lost. It must be condemned. Hope, better sense prevails."

Nair said that he was stunned by the tragic events of the past few days and expressed his deep sorrow for the loss of so many innocent lives and those who suffered in the ordeal.

The Chairman also paid tributes to the brave police officers and commandos who laid down their lives fighting for the country. He said the space community joins the nation in mourning them and expressing grief to their bereaved families in this hour of sorrow.

The three-day event at the Bangalore international exhibition convention complex on the outskirts of the city is being held in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
