Mitchell Johnson All Set To Become The Second Highest Paid Aussie Player
Mitchell Johnson is one of the most talked about Australian cricketers these days. The in-form Aussie all-rounder is all set to become the second highest paid player in the 25-man contract list of Cricket Australia.
The Courier Mail, a leading Australian daily said, “Mitchell Johnson will be the big mover in Australia's new contract rankings and is closing in on the cherished mantle of the nation's highest-paid player.”
''Boom quick Johnson, not in the top four players last season, is likely to be promoted to the number two spot when the Australian selectors decide their 25-man contract list in the next few weeks,'' the daily added.
It is also learnt that there could be a hand out pay cuts to injury-plagued pace bowler Brett Lee and struggling batsman Mike Hussey.
It can be recalled that the Johnson, 27, has performed very well in the recent series. The left arm pacer from Australia picked 14 wickets in the two Tests against New Zealand, 17 wickets against South Africa in three Tests in Australia and 16 in South Africa.
Apart from bowling, the Aussie had also showed his batting skills in the recent series. He went on to score his maiden Test century during the third of the three-match Test series against South Africa.
