New Bike launch rocks Bajaj Auto’s share priceBajaj Auto has launched a new version of its Pulsar bike, Pulsar 135 LS, in order to place the pulsar brand in the mass segment. With this release the shares of Bajaj Auto surged by 1.67% to Rs. 1668.

The Pulsar 135 LS has been launched at an ex-showroom price of Rs. 51,000, in Delhi. Bajaj expects a sale of at least 30,000 units per month of the new Pulsar.

Bajaj Auto has refreshed all the bikes, under the Pulsar brand and the company expects that the new launch will help in the pulsar bikes to go beyond 80,000 units per month.

Bajaj Auto's total vehicle sale has risen by 73% to 276,759 units in November 2009 as compared to November 2008. So has been the performance of the company's motorcycles sales, which rose by 84% to 242,390 units during the same period. Bajaj Auto's net profit has shot-up by 117.85% to Rs. 402.83 crore along with the company's net sales, which increased by 15.4% to Rs
2793.22 crore in the second quarter, September 2009 in comparison with the same quarter, September 2008.

Bajaj Auto has entered into an agreement with France's Renault and Japan's Nissan Motor in the last month. In this agreement the companies will collectively make a low-cost car, which would be launched in the year 2012.

The promoters of the company have pledged 10.93 lakh shares, which is 0.76% of the total equity of the company. The promoters have a total stake of 49.62% in the company as registered on
30 September 2009.

Bajaj Auto deals in the manufacturing and distribution of the motorized two-wheeler and three-wheeler scooters, motorcycles and mopeds.
