Nintendo to launch Wii U game console this holiday seasonJapanese gaming major, Nintendo has said that it’s Wii U game console will be available for the consumers this hilliday season with a range of high-powered games.

Following the unveiling of the consoles, the company faced criticism over the new devise. Some say that the company failed to showcase why the new console is different from others already available in the market. Nintendo announced advanced games that will be offered at the time of the launch of the console. The console will come with new games from the "Super Mario Bros.," "Wii Fit" and "Pikmin3".

At its presentation during a press event for the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) Nintendo executives released also released a list of third-party games that will run on the console including "Mass Effect 3," "Aliens: Colonial Marines," and a special edition of "Batman: Arkham City".

The Wii U GamePad features a 6.2-inch touch-sensitive screen and an independent infrared remote control for television, according to Nintendo President Satoru Iwata. The near-field technology, which is mainly used or wireless payment transfers, will allow the gaming device to read and write data from cards and figures.

The GamePad also comes with motion and gyro sensors for detecting movements. It also comes with a two stick-form devices instead of 3DS-like circle pads. Iwata also pointed out that the devices will feature Miiverse, which is a social-networking platform that allows players to create their own Mii avatars.
