New Delhi - Giving more teeth to Sebi to clamp down on illicit money-pooling schemes and other frauds, the government has notified a new law empowering the capital market regulator to pass orders for attachment of properties, arrest of defaulters and to access call data records.

Washington, Aug 28 : Researchers have revealed that excise tax on sugar-sweetened beverages, exercise, and advertising ban on sugar-sweetened beverages such as sodas, energy drinks, sweet teas, and sports drinks would reduce obesity in adolescents.

According to the study, the policy would also generate significant revenue for additional obesity prevention activities and nearly one in three young people between two and 19 years old were overweight or obese in 2009-2010, and 17 percent were obese. There are significant disparities in obesity prevalence among racial/ethnic groups and by socioeconomic status.

Washington, Aug 28 : A new study has demonstrated that deficiency in serotonin, which act as a chemical messenger in the brain, leads to depression.

The study conducted by Medical Center and Wayne State University School of Medicine, showed that that depression posed a major public health problem.

Scientists reported that mice lacking the ability to make serotonin in their brains did not show depression-like symptoms.

Scientists believed that boosting levels of the signaling molecule was the key to solving depression.

Washington, Aug 28 : NASA is set to launch the world's most powerful rocket, which has been designed to carry humans to Mars, in 2018.

NASA's deep-space rocket, the Space Launch System, designed to ferry humans to Mars, is the agency's first heavy-lift launch vehicle in over 40 years, Cnet reported.

NASA Administrator Charles Bolden said that they are on a journey of scientific and human exploration that leads to Mars and are firmly committed to building the launch vehicle and other supporting systems that will take us on that journey.

New Delhi: Car marker leader Maruti Suzuki India is looking at nearly doubling the number of models to 25, including entry into SUV and LCV segments, as it aims a target to sell 3 million cars annually.

The company will launch within a few months an SUV to compete with Renault's Duster, which will be followed by a compact SUV in 2016 to take on segment leader Ford EcoSport, as part of a strategy to be present in newer segments of the passenger vehicle market.

Maruti Suzuki India (MSI), which is gearing up to launch a light commercial vehicle (LCV), is also in the process of setting up a separate network for its new foray.
