Washington, Sept 17: “The Bourne Ultimatum” has retained its top position at the international box office with 20.8 million dollars

The Matt Damon hit was followed by "The Simpsons Movie" conjured 10.5 million dollars at the second spot, reports Variety.

Disney's "Ratatouille" with 5.5 million dollars and Ogre pic ‘Shrek the Third’ (5.3 million dollars) finished third and fourth respectively.

‘No Reservations’ rounded off the top five, at the fifth slot with 4.9 million dollars.

George Clooney confers lifetime achievement award on Ocean's producer

September 17: Hollywood star George Clooney has conferred a lifetime achievement award on the producer of the Ocean’s film series, Jerry Weintraub.

The filmmaker received the award at a gala dinner, which was held as the annual film festival kicked off in Boston, the US.

"He's more than the consummate producer, he's one of the greatest friends you could ever have," the BBC quoted Clooney, who himself has starred in the Ocean's series, as saying.

Britney Spears is reportedly close to losing the custody of her two kids, after a Los Angeles attorney brought up a secret witness who has dished out accounts of her behaviour with her kids.

The man, who has observed the singer’s parenting skills, will appear at the closed door hearing of the custody battle between Spears and her ex-hubby Kevin Federline.

Last week, attorney Gloria Allred got a declaration signed by the man with the court, reports Fox News.

Blood test may help assess fat around organs

London, September 17: A team of US and German researchers has found that measuring levels of a specific protein in the blood may help assess accurately how much fat coats the body’s organs.

Researchers from Harvard University and the University of Leipzig analysed 196 people, and found that genes that produce the protein RBP4 were up to 60 times more active in obese people with high levels of visceral fat than in lean people.

Majeed Malik quits PML to protest Musharraf’s re-election plan

Islamabad, Sep 17: Major General (retired) Abdul Majeed Malik, a senior vice president of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League (PML), has resigned to register his protest against President Pervez Musharraf’s bid to get himself re-elected for another five years.

“I am not in a position to prevent the party leadership from supporting the re-election of a president in uniform,” the Daily Times quoted him, as saying.

Major General (retired) Malik has submitted his resignation to PML President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Secretary General Mushahid Hussain.
