London, Sept 14: It seems that Brit star Amy Winehouse, who has been worrying her friends and folks with her thin frame, has embarked on a weight-gaining spree by going on a fast foot diet.

Reports said that Winehouse has scoffed seven McDonald's in the past one week.

And, her ploy certainly seems to be working as the 24-year-old has already gained a stone.

A source said that Winehouse has visited Mr Jerk - a Soho restaurant three times in the past week.

New York, Sept 14: "High School Musical" star, Vanessa Hudgens, has another embarrassment to add to her kitty after more pictures of her hit the Internet.

The actress, who was earlier caught up in a scandal over her nude pictures that were posted on the Internet, was trying run away from the limelight.

However, she won’t been able to do so for long, for in the new photographs, she is once again caught in compromising positions.

Apparently, one of the pics shows Hudgens engaged in girl-on-girl kissing.

Helena Christensen slapped with $1.75m lawsuit over wooden deck

London, Sep 14: Helena Christensen has been slapped with a 1.75 million dollar suit for troubling her neighbour with excess noise.

Retiree Fran Panasci sued the supermodel because she was sick and tired of noise and vibrations from the wooden deck Christensen built off her Hudson St. home.

The suit, filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, claims that the deck has dented her property and blocked out the sunlight.

430,000 Assamese stranded by floods

Morigaon (Assam), Sept. 14: At least 430,000 Assamese in over 4000 villages have been affected by the latest bout of monsoon-related floods.

The hardest hit of the 21 districts in the state includes Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Cahchar and Morigaon.

Several rivers, including the main Brahmaputra, are in spate. The State Government has banned the movement of ferries and boats. Makeshift boats and rafts, however, are being allowed to move through the floodwaters.

Sex crimes by Chinese minors on the increase, warns Beijing judge

Sex crimes by Chinese minors are increasing because of pornography and a breakdown in family values, according to a judge of a Beijing court.

Judge Wang Lijuan of Beijing's Haidian District People's Court said 70 percent of the teenaged criminals, mostly in the 16 to 17 age group, were not high school graduates, and about 60 percent of them came from broken homes.

Citing one case, he said a 16-year-old who constantly watched porn films after his mother went abroad and his father was too busy to take care of him, raped a woman.

Canada Ready To Combat Any Avian Flu Pandemic Outbreak

Quebec: Health Minister Tony Clement has said that Canada is ready to tackle any worldwide pandemic outbreak as a Quebec City-based influenza vaccine production facility is near completion.

Pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline (NYSE:GSK), owns the facility, which is in the final stages of the nearly $200-million expansion.

Clement said that in past few years the fast efforts to get ready for an outbreak have been made.
