Kathmandu, Aug 1 : Girija Prasad Koirala starts bilateral meetings with SAARC leadersNepal’s caretaker Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala today started bilateral meetings with leaders of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), who have gathered here to participate in the summit on August 2-3.

According to Nepalnews, he paid a call to President of Sri Lanka, Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Kathmandu, July 28 : Girija Prasad Koirala to attend 15th SAARC SummitThe 15th South Asian Association Regional Cooperation (SAARC) summit which is due to be held this week at Colombo will be attended by Nepal’s caretaker Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala.

The meeting of the Council of Ministers decided to send 35-member delegates in the leadership of Koirala in this years SAARC summit due to the delay in the formation of the government.

The decision has been taken amidst Maoist objection over Koirala attending the summit.

Kathmandu, July 25 : Girija Prasad Koirala meets Terai-based parties leadersNepal’s caretaker Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala met leaders of the Terai Madhesh Loktantrik Party (TMLP) and the Sadbhawana Party (SP) at his Baluwatar residence this morning.

According to Nepalnews, Koirala requested the leaders of the two parties to back the new alliance of the Nepali Congress (NC), the United Marxist and Leninist (UML) and the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) in its efforts to lead the new Government.

According to Nepalnews, Koirala will tendering his resignation today to pave the way for the formation of a new Government, a day after he accepted latter''s resignation from the post of General Secretary and general member of Nepali Congress.

Kathmandu, July 12 : Nepal Prime Minister Girija Prasad KoiralaPrime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala has said that the Maoists being the biggest party in the Constituent Assembly, should take responsibility for finding solutions to the latest political developments, including formation of a new government .

Addressing a function organised here on Friday, Koirala said: " It is the responsibility of the Maoists to give political outlet in Nepal."

Koirala, however, said that he is ready to play the role of a facilitator and help the Maoists bail the country out of its current political deadlock.
