Islamabad, Apr 21: Senior BJP leader and India’s Leader of Opposition, LK Advani has said that Pakistan’s insistence on describing Kashmir as the “core issue” between India and Pakistan would “not achieve anything”, instead the matters relating to commerce should precede the dispute.
Advani said that he encouraged the composite dialogue process between India and Pakistan.
New Delhi, Apr 18 : Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L. K. Advani has written a letter to Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and sought clemency for Sarabjit Singh, the Indian on death row in Pakistan.
"I wrote it through government as it was not appropriate on my part to write a letter to him on a personal level. I was told that letters from the embassy are dispatched once a week. I had told the foreign secretary to inform me when the letter is delivered to him, so I have received confirmation of the delivery of the letter. I expect that justice is done to him," Advani said on the sidelines of a book release ceremony.
Chandigarh, Apr 12 : Former Deputy Prime Minister L. K. Advani is the new target for the “Punjabi Durbar” programme of Radio Pakistan. Advani is being accused for relations between India and Pakistan turning acrimonious during the NDA regime.
Pakistan Radio in one of its “Punjabi Durbar” programme alleged that his fundamentalist approach and policies were responsible for relationship between the two countries becoming bitter.
