Abbas to Iran: Don't intervene in Palestinian internal affairs Ramallah - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas warned Iran Wednesday against "widening" Palestinian divisions by meddling in internal Palestinian affairs.

"Iran must not intervene in the internal Palestinian affairs," he told a news conference with the visiting US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton in Ramallah.

"You are widening our divisions, not helping us," he told Tehran.

Abbas meets Swedish officials, calls for EU political support Stockholm  - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas Wednesday held talks with Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt and other cabinet members, urging Sweden and the European Union to give "political support" to the Middle East peace process.

Abbas, currently touring several European capitals, expressed his thanks for aid from Sweden that he recognized as one of the main donors to the Palestinians.

"To be honest with you we don't want only financial aid from Sweden," Abbas said at a news conference with Reinfeldt.

Abbas meets with Norwegian premier and foreign minister

Mahmoud AbbasOslo  - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas held talks Tuesday with Norwegian officials, focusing on the humanitarian plight in Gaza and prospects for peace.

Abbas, currently touring several European capitals, met Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg and Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Store.

The Palestinian Authority leader told reporters that he supported a national unity government between Hamas, which runs the Gaza Strip, and his own Fatah party.

Stoltenberg said that Norway's main "concern now is the humanitarian situation in Gaza. There is a desperate need for food, medical supplies and other humanitarian aid."

"We wish that Hamas be represented within (a government) of national unity and that this government takes a unified stance towards accomplishing peace," he told reporters after meeting his Czech counterpart Vaclav Klaus during a visit to Prague.

Mahmoud AbbasAnkara - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas appealed for the quick dispatch of aid to people suffering in the Gaza Strip saying that Israel was holding up the vast majority of aid sent to the region.

Speaking after talks in Ankara with President Abdullah Gul, Abbas asked rhetorically what will the world do if Israel refuses to allow aid into the devastated region.

"We want the Palestinian people to be allowed to live an honourable way, just like the rest of the world," Abbas said with Gul agreeing.
