Police Registers a Case Against Seeman

Case against Seeman, a film director and leader of Naam Tamilar for prompting his cadres to loot actor Jayaram's house in Valasaravakkam is registered. According to the police he was the prime accuser of instigating the attack on the actor, who allegedly made derogatory remarks on a Tamil woman in a recent interview.

"I regret the remarks. It was a joke from one of my films and not aimed at hurting anybody's sentiments. Insulting Tamil women intentionally will be like insulting my own mother”, said Jayaram, thanking chief minister M. Karunanidhi. Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on Saturday said as actor Jayaram had apologized for his remarks, it would be better to forgive him and leave the matter at that.

"One of our teams had gone to Seeman's house to bring him for questioning, but he was not there. Teams are searching for Naam Tamilar activists and Seeman," said a senior police officer.
