Washington  - Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a member of the top court in the United States, said Tuesday she will be undergoing chemotherapy after surgery last month for pancreatic cancer.

The 75-year-old Supreme Court justice said her surgery last month was a complete success and described the chemotherapy treatment as a precautionary move. Ginsburg, the only woman on the nine-member court, said she expected to continue working full-time.

Singapore  - A former employee of a Singapore luxury watch retailer who allegedly made off with watches worth several million US dollars last Christmas Day surrendered to the authorities in Bangkok on Tuesday, Singapore police reported.

"Jerry Ee ... is currently in the custody of the Royal Thai Police, and more than 200 pieces of the stolen watches were recovered," a statement by Singapore Police Force said.

The 35-year-old, who was on Interpol's wanted list, is suspected of having taken more than 380 watches from expensive designer brands.

Moscow - A Moscow court Tuesday refused to dismiss new charges of embezzlement and fraud against former oil tycoon Mikhail Khodorkovsky, Russian news agencies reported.

District Court Judge Viktor Danilkin rejected defence's request that the case be thrown out, and set March 31 for the first trial hearings against Khodorkovsky and his business partner Platon Lebedev.

Prosecutors say the two defrauded investors in their oil major Yukos out of 890 billion rubles (25 billion dollars).

Nairobi/Mogadishu/New York  - Gunmen late Monday in Somalia released four United Nations relief workers - three foreigners and one local staffer - after a brief abduction, the UN said.

Marie Okabe, a spokeswoman at UN headquarters in New York, said that the four were released following a brief detention by the armed kidnappers. No details were provided.

St Poelten, Austria / Berlin  - "He wanted to build up a second family in the cellar," Josef Fritzl's lawyer said Monday, as the trial opened of the 78-year old Austrian charged with imprisoning and raping his daughter for 24 years.

Islamabad  - As many as people were killed and nearly 20 injured Monday when a bomb ripped through a busy street in the garrison town of Rawalpind that adjoins Pakistan's capital Islamabad, officials said.

Seventeen more people were injured in the explosion that damaged three vehicles near a bus depot in Pir Wadhai area, medical personnel said.
