Production of synthetic rubber has gone up by 10%

synthetic-rubberThe production of synthetic rubber has increased from its last record by 10%, which is equivalent to rising up to 1.06 lakh tonnes. This has been informed by the Rubber Board data.

The production had decreased by 9% in the previous fiscal which was down by 96,739 tonnes from its following fiscal.

During the fiscal year of 2009-10, the consumption of synthetic rubber had jumped to 3.4 lakh tonnes thereby making an 18.7% growth against a depreciation of 1.4% in the prior financial year.

The automotive tyre sector is responsible for more than 50% of the use of synthetic rubber in the India. This sector has consumed so much of the synthetic rubber that there is an increase by 28.7% this year.

The consumption figure has touched 2.38 lakh tonnes in the year 2009-10 in contrast to the 1.85 lakh tonnes incurred in the previous fiscal.

The consumption of natural and synthetic rubber in India was 75:25 last year. This year's ratio has changed to 73:27. Apart from that, 1.9 lakh tonnes of synthetic rubber were imported during 2008-09 where as 2.5 lakh tonnes for 2009-10.
