Public tension must be controlled in India, Pakistan

Washington, Dec. 6: Inflamed passions across India and Pakistan must be controlled to prevent another war between India and Pakistan.

“People of both the nations will have to control inflamed public passion and manipulative politicians too,” Austin Bay reports in his column for the Washington Post.

“Statesmen will have to confront the terrorists responsible for the heinous crime,”Bay comments.

Large scale public anger can be witnessed across India after the deadliest terror attack to have ever hit India, shook Mumbai last week.

There are fears that India could attack Pakistan and Indian and Pakistani media reflect this speculation in their war of words.

Military forces along the border have been redeployed on both sides of the Line of control (LOC).

An intricate diplomatic exercise is needed to ensure peace between India and Pakistan and calm down soaring public anger.

With India wanting Pakistan to arrest and then extradite several terrorists, Pakistan must comply in order to defeat the ill plans of the terrorists. Action against terror camps must be taken soon.

“Al Qaeda lost in Iraq. It has now shifted its main effort to Afghanistan and Pakistan,” Bay said.

“Al Qaeda’s tactics aren’t working in Afghanistan because there is a ‘popular opposition to Islamic terrorism’ and Pakistani army’s offensive against the Taliban in Pakistan has hurt the terrorists,” Bay reported. (ANI)
