Rahul Gandhi lays stress on sports

Rahul GandhiGauriganj (UP), Aug 23: Congress General Secretary and Lok Sabha MP from Amethi, Rahul Gandhi has appealed to youngsters to strike a balance between studies and sports.

He said this after inaugurating a three-day Kabaddi tournament at the Jawahar Navoday Vidyalay in Gauriganj on Friday evening.

Around 300 students from various schools of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand are taking part in the sports meet.

"It is very important that you look for balance. You look for balance between studies and sports. It is only when you balance your activities and you do a mixture of activities that you truly begin to learn. So, I am very happy to open this Kabaddi meet," he said on the occasion.

Earlier, Rahul evaluated the loss caused by the floods in his constituency. He went on a boat along with some officials and the villagers to assess the damage.

He also interacted with the local residents and his party workers, and discussed the problems that they were facing due to floods.

Besides, Rahul had assessed various developmental schemes launched by him in the past in Amethi.

Rahul had arrived here on Thursday for a three-day visit. (ANI)
