ChandigarhChandigarh, Aug 26 : Food enthusiasts got something to cheer about recently in Chandigarh when two food festivals were held there, which tickled their palates.

The food festivals specialized in Mughlai and Chinese food.

The 15-day long kebab festival served a variety of juicy and lip-smacking Lucknawi kebabs. The menu included kebabs of 15 non-vegetarian and 10 vegetarian varieties.

Some of the gourmets like Vegetable Galouti kebab, Spicy Fish kebab, and Chicken Tikka Tarkand were cooked in red wine over charcoal, which can leave any food lover craving for more.

Chandigarh, a well-planned city started by first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru is now attracting major IT groups, including Infosys.

It is known as one of the best experiments in urban planning and modern architecture in 20th century India.

Abhinav’s house was embellished with flowers so as make it befitting for the welcome of country''s new found sporting icon.

Protests over land transfer row spreadsChandigarh/Lucknow, August 12 : The protests over the Amarnath shrine land transfer row have spilled over to other parts of the country, after having paralyzed life in Jammu and Kashmir where they originated.

Thousands of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activists took to the streets in Lucknow today shouting slogans against the land transfer revocation order.

The situation turned violent as the protesters clashed with the police, which resorted to baton charge to disperse the mob.

Bindra had been fourth after qualifying but had a brilliant final round and the Indian, the epitome of tranquility, hit a near perfect 10.8 on his last shot to pull in front of Henri Hakkinen of Finland, who fell to bronze with a poor final shot.
