Mumbai, Sept 17 : While Indian bankers do not see much impact from the exposure to Lehman brothers, market analysts do not rule out immediate repercussions of the fallout on the Indian stocks.

It is official now that the sub prime crisis is no longer confined to either the US market or just the mortgage market, but the reverberations are being felt world over and across all financial services.

A failed investment banking firm- Lehman brothers is for sure spelling troubles for the Indian companies that have invested in the company.

Mumbai, Sep. 16 : A Worli-based social organisation in Mumbai, has given a clarion call asking its members to avoid wearing traditional wrap around, locally called "Lungi" and instead start wearing pants.

The main contention stated behind the step is to motivate organisation''s members who are from Uttar Pradesh to wear pants so that local authorities take them seriously

"Lungi Choro, Pant Pehno" (Give up wrap around, wear pants) campaign is being carried out here by Mohammed Abdul Hamid Yuva Pratishthan (MAHYP), the social organisation.

Mumbai, Sept 16: Shares of top outsourcing firms, which earn a key part of their revenues from the U. S. banking and financial services sector, continued to fall sharply on Tuesday.

Nifty, the benchmark of the National Stock Exchange (NSE), fell by 102 points to 3970.80, a slump of 2.51 per cent. And the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) benchmark Sensex slumped to 13,058 from Monday’s close, shedding 472.81 points.

Mumbai, Sept 15 : Volunteers led by Member of Parliament (MP) Priya Dutt thronged popular Juhu beach in Mumbai on Monday to participate in a cleanliness drive, a day after thousands of idols of god Lord Ganesh were immersed in water bodies.

The ten-day long Ganesh festival, one of the most vibrant festivals in India, came to an end on Sunday with thousands of devotees coming out for the immersion of innumerable idols of lord Ganesh in water bodies.

New Delhi, Sept 15 : Delhi police claimed on Monday to have obtained "vital leads" in the Saturday’s serial blasts in the national capital that left 21 dead and over 90 injured.

Delhi police said a suspected Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) activist based in Mumbai has emerged as a key suspect along with three from Azamgarh in UP.

It has detained eight people in connection with the blasts, who are being questioned.
