Nepalese "Buddha boy" resurfaces after year-long absence

Nepal MapKathmandu - A Nepalese teenager dubbed the "Buddha boy" has resurfaced in southern Nepal, a year after he disappeared from his meditation place, police said Tuesday.

Ram Bahadur Bomjam, 18, captured the imagination of Nepalese in 2005 when he reportedly meditated in a jungle for several months without food, water or sleep.

He quietly left the site in a jungle in southern Nepal last year, after thousands of people had made their way to get a glimpse of him.

Nepal Constituent Assembly regulations finalisedKathmandu, Nov 10 : The Nepal Constituent Assembly regulations have been finalised after the much-disputed issue of whip was settled earlier by the four major parties who agreed to let the rules remain silent on that issue.

According to Nepalnews, the regulations were finalised on Sunday evening by the committee headed by Narayan Man Bijukchhe in presence of Constituent Assembly chairman Subas Nemwang.

The Constituent Assembly regulations stated that the process and provision on impeachment against the President and the Vice President would be as per the constitution.

Bhutanese refugees find little to cheer about in king's coronation

Kathmandu  - Bhutanese refugees living in camps in eastern Nepal said they were closely following the coronation of Bhutan's new king even though they held out no hope of returning to their homeland, Nepalese media reports said Friday.

As Bhutan celebrated Thursday's coronation of 28-year-old Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk, thousands of refugees said there was little reason to cheer, the Kathmandu Post newspaper reported.

"There is no happiness in the refugee camp as the new king ascends the throne," said SB Subba, chairman of the Human Rights Organization of Bhutan. "It is meaningless for the people in refugee camps as the monarchy is the sole cause of our suffering."

In a message, Nepalese Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, alias Prachanda, said he hoped the change in US leadership would lead to improved bilateral relations between the two countries.
