Nativity comic books for multicultural Brit kids

London, Dec 1 : Church leaders have introduced Beano-style comics with Santa and snowmen integrated into the story of the Nativity, in a bid to make Brit kids aware of why is Christmas celebrated.

Christmas Crackers was produced by the Diocese of London to make the Christmas story “fresh and relevant” to modern children.

The comics available on diocese’s website have been produced following the concerns that many kids did not know the Christmas story.

The Right Rev Richard Chartres, the Bishop of London, said that he was committed to telling the story of Jesus Christ in a modern way that was “accessible and appealing” to young people, reports Times Online.

Jordan lands £2m deal for two new series

London, Dec 1 : Former English glamour model Katie Price a. k. a. Jordan has landed herself and hubby Peter Andre a deal of 2 million pounds for two new television series.

Jordan and Andre will each get 1 million pounds from ITV2 after they launch themselves in America, plus another 350,00 pounds each in “talent” fees.

The two will star in the 12-part Katie & Peter: Stateside in April, and then film another fly-on-the-wall series, set to hit our screens at the end of next year.

“Katie and Pete are not to everyone’s taste but they make fantastic car crash TV,” News of the World quoted a source as saying on November 30.

Milla Jovovich to tie the knot for third time

Jovovich, 32, is getting married to British director Paul WS Anderson, whom she met on the set of 2002 film Resident Evil, which was written and directed by him.

The actress also revealed that she would like to change the venue of her wedding this time.

“I’d like to organize a private ceremony. I’ve done Las Vegas twice and I didn’t want to jinx it by doing it again,” the Daily Express quoted her as telling Brides magazine.

While the wife in the couple had refused since she was turned off by the religious milieu and because she was no attracted to the vicar, her hubby claimed Teresa had offered to wear a dog collar to have sex with him.

“She asked what my fantasy was about her and I joked I’d love to see her just in her dog collar. Raunchily she took off her robes,” News of the World quoted him as saying.

Film about poor Indian boy winning fortune rules British Indie Film Awards

London, Dec 1 (ANI): ''Slumdog Millionaire'', a movie narrating the journey of a poor Indian boy who wins a game show fortune, has bagged three gongs, including best film, at the British Independent Film Awards.

The flick, which has not been released in the UK yet, also won Danny Boyle the prize for best director, reports BBC

Dev Patel, 18-year-old actor who made his debut in the film, also won the award for the best newcomer at the London ceremony.
 
Slumdog has already won the influential People''s Choice Award at the Toronto Film Festival.

Political drama Hunger also took three prizes, with Michael Fassbender named best actor for playing Bobby Sands.
