Long Blondes guitarist hopes to play again with help of ‘bionic hand’London, Dec 1 : Dorian Cox of the English indie rock band ‘The Long Blondes’ has revealed that he hopes to be able to play guitar again someday with the help of a ‘bionic hand’, after a stroke paralyzed the right side of his body.

The musician is undergoing neurological physiotherapy, and it includes training sessions with a “revolutionary” mechanical glove, which he is optimistic will help him to regain his right hand movement.

London, Dec 1 : A teenager, who is an expert at kung-fu, proved to be too much of a match for a machete-wielding raider, who was threatening his little sister in their holiday flat.

Brit Redmond Lee, 13, is said to have put the masked burglar out of commission with an arm lock and then snatching the 2ft razor-sharp blade from him.

Seeing the intruder holding the weapon over his 11-year-old sister Millina’s head, at the luxury Southern Palms beach resort hotel in Barbados, Lee leapt into action.

The crook barely escaped with his life after Lee’s mum Benita, 45, threw hot coffee in his face and his dad Dane, 44, who is also a kung-fu expert, threw him out.

Glastonbury Festival licence ‘not going anywhere’

Michael EavisLondon, December 1 : Britain’s Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts is far from losing its licence, according to Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis.

Glastonbury, amongst the largest music and performing arts festivals in the world, had been declined to have a license in 2002 following crime concerns from surrounding villages.

However, the decision had been later tipped over and Mendip District Council had agreed to a four-year licence ensuring the event''s future run until 2010.

The first computer mouse, developed 4 decades ago, was a little wooden box with a single red button on top and a wire hanging from the back, because of which it was likened to a rodent.

And while computers have transformed from big white boxes to cool flat screens and laptops, the mouse has, more or less, stayed the same.

But, its designer, Douglas Engelbart, is not a rich man giving orders in a huge IT firm.
