UK does not have right type of force to counter Mumbai-style terror attack: Expert

London, Nov. 30 : A former SAS officer has warned that Britain is not in a position to counter a terrorist strike similar to what happened in Mumbai this week, as it does not have the right type of forces to deal with such incidents should they surface.

In an interview with The Sunday Telegraph, the former Army officer, who cannot be named for security reasons, and provided support to the Metropolitan Police during the
7/7 and 21/7 London tube attacks, said the United Kingdom does not have the right type of counter-terrorist forces in London or other major cities to deal with a multi-site, and mobile terrorist incident such as was seen in Mumbai.

Killed Brit tycoon’s family says he was in the wrong place at the wrong time

London, Nov. 30 : Businessman Andreas Liveras, the only known British fatality of the Mumbai terror attack, has been described by his family as an extremely courageous man who would never bow to the demands of terrorists, and was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Liveras, a self-made businessman, was sprayed with gunfire as he hid with other guests inside Mumbai’s Taj Mahal Hotel.

Dion Liveras, the victim’s son, told The Sunday Telegraph: “My father had the misfortune to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Even now, we find it beyond belief that he went out for a quiet meal – and lost his life.”
